About us
Phast4u was created out of a need for high-end modelling capabilities, without the high cost of a Phast license and training.
Hello, Iām Robert - Founder of Phast4U.
While working as a chemical engineering consultant for Det Norske Veritas (DNV), I frequently used Phast to model releases of toxic and flammable gases for clients in the chemicals, oil and gas and other industries. I came to appreciate the flexibility and usefulness of the total package.
However, after I had left DNV I needed to model leaks, fires, explosions and toxic gases, but found no one with a Phast licence willing to do the modelling for me. So I began Phast4U, to quickly and accurately run Phast models for other consultants and operations personnel around the world.
I worked in chemical engineering for ICI and other companies before moving to process safety consulting and eventually creating Phast4U. Now that I have a little bit more time, I enjoy reading from well known authors such as Enid Blyton, Roal Dahl and JRR Tolkien, with my five grandchildren, helping them learn to read, and teaching them that there are numbers less than 0.
About Phast4U
Phast4U is operated by a risk consulting company in Australia which provides safety and risk support to clients within the oil and gas, petrochemical and process industries. Our clients are situated in the USA, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
We have the latest version of Phast licensed from DNV and guarantee that the version used is a legal licensed package from DNV.
Phast4U is not associated with DNV but is an independent organization, comprising of people who have used Phast over a long period and know how to obtain the best results from the software.
As a small family run business, Phast4U does all of our consulting, modelling and hazard analysis amongst the Australian Gumtrees whilst listing to Kookaburras laughing.
About Phast
Phast is a world-recognised, leading consequence modeling program developed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and validated against large field trials. It contains physical property data on over 1000 industrial chemicals, to give you confidence that your material can be modeled with all the physical and chemical properties already specified.
Phast models the outcomes of spills or releases of hazardous chemicals by using the storage or processing conditions, such as temperature and pressure, with the accident situation (e.g. pressure vessel leak) to calculate the release rate of the chemical. Then the weather conditions are used to calculate how far the material will travel and the distance of danger, whether from a toxic vapour, the heat from a fire or the overpressure from an explosion.
